Fishy Trout Bum Team
Brad Bohen and Michael Thomas are the Gettin' Fishy Trout Bum team, entered in the annual Fly Rod and Reel Trout Bum contest. They will be taking their "rusty but trusty" Millennium Falcon, a 1990 Dodge diesel pickup, with a 1974 Trail Master camper set on back to transport them on their journey fishing the southern shore of Lake Superior. Brad and Mike will be posting their daily exploits, beginning on August 1, on the Fly Rod and Reel website so you will be able to check in there and see what they have been up to lately. One of the new wrinkles in this year's contest is that a majority of the scoring will be based on the $$'s raised for the designated non-profit organization. Team Gettin' Fishy has selected the BBBS Pass It On program as their charity (and we REALLY appreciate it!!!). As part of their Trout Bum trip, Brad and Mike will be stopping at BBBS agencies along their route and offering fly fishing seminars as well as working to raise as much money as they can for the Pass It On program! The winner of the Trout Bum contest will have $5,000 donated to their chosen non-profit organization by Ford Motors! Larry Olson, owner of Troutwood - a cool online seller of unique fly-fishing related stuff, has agreed to partner up with Team Gettin Fishy to help raise money for Pass It On. Larry has agreed to host an online raffle to raise funds. Larry will donate products and is willing to match some funds raised.
